Nine Baby Quails and Counting

The baby quails and their parents are huddled together to take a nap and preen. One of the baby quails jumps up onto his Mommy’s back and then slides off. I count again how many baby quails I see. Nine, ten, eleven quails!

Nine Baby Quails

It looks like there are nine baby quails following their Daddy and Mommy around. They must be newborns. Their bodies are the size of the eggs. They stop to take a cat nap in the grass, then preen, then leave to go find food in the flower beds.
