It snowed quite a bit last night and this morning the mommy dove was not sitting on her nest. The one egg was dusted with snow. She came back later in the morning but by the afternoon I didn’t see her again.

The mommy dove is always on her nest. She moves and changes direction, but never leaves.

There is one white egg in the dove nest. I was able to see it while she took a much needed break.

The doves created a nest on the fence a couple of days ago. Spring is here!

The quails come down from the pine trees in the morning and begin their daily rounds of the neighborhood yards. In the evening, they fly back up for a good night’s sleep.

The mockingbird is pecking and eating the apple. The quails walk over and take over. The mockingbird opens its beak as wide as possible, but the quails are not impressed. The mockingbird flies on to the lilac and waits. A robin is nearby waiting as well for his turn while the quails eat away.

An orange colored cat is taking a walk in the park with her owner. She walks ahead and then stops and waits for her owner to catch-up. Later the cat is looking at something interesting near the rocks and then has to catch-up to her.

The crow hops down from the tree and is picking-up things from the ground. He puts them down and looks again. He finds some soft roots and tries those out. He likes these and flies back up to the tree to add these soft materials to his nest.

The house finches are pulling the stuffing from the chair cushions. They fly off to begin building a soft nest. The gold finches fly down and watch. They begin to pull out pieces as well and then fly up to the tree to play with the soft material.

The quails try to run across the snow to the other side of the yard but they are sometimes too heavy and they sink down. They come right back up and start again.
